Sports and cultural activities in Esbjerg

As a student at Aalborg University Esbjerg, you will always have plenty of opportunities for spending your leisure time engaging in exciting activities. Esbjerg has many cultural offerings as well as professional sports matches and sports facilities such as Svømmestadion Denmark, sports clubs, gyms and a skating rink.

Sports and cultural activities in Esbjerg

As a student at Aalborg University Esbjerg, you will always have plenty of opportunities for spending your leisure time engaging in exciting activities. Esbjerg has many cultural offerings as well as professional sports matches and sports facilities such as Svømmestadion Denmark, sports clubs, gyms and a skating rink.

E.1

E.1 is the joint organization for all higher education students in Esbjerg.
E.1 offers a number of free events for students each semester. Both social and career oriented events.

Youth cultural center

Huset Esbjerg is the city's voluntary and user-run youth cultural center with an inclusive and creative community. Here you will find e.g. café, concerts, film club, knitting club, role-play and much more.

Sports and clubs

Esbjerg has many sports clubs and sports associations such as football, handball, ice hockey, swimming, boxing or martial arts.

NOTE: As a student in higher education, you have the opportunity to get free tickets for football, handball and ice hockey home matches via E.1 (both for domestic league, cup tournaments and European tournaments).

Events and Cultural activities

Whether you are into, rock concerts, theatre, music festivals, classical music, stand-up comedy or museums Esbjerg has it all. Especially during the summer months there is a lot of cultural activities, eg. free outdoor concerts at the town square.

Cafés and night life

In Esbjerg's cafés you can treat yourself to delicious food and drinks. A large part of the cafés are located around the town square in Esbjerg city centre.

Near the town square the street "Skolegade" is located. This is where the night life happens every weekend with bars, discos and nightclubs.

Nature in Esbjerg

In Esbjerg you are never far from nature. The West Coast and the Wadden Sea are another story. At the municipality, green areas are a high priority, thus you don't have to drive for many kilometers to find yourself at one of Denmark's best beaches or in the middle of magnificent nature.
