It is a group of strong graduates with necessary competencies in high demand that we now say goodbye to, says Prodean for Education at the Faculty for Engineering and Science Olav Geil.

On Tuesday 31st of January, 23 new engineers and a single cand.tech. graduated from Aalborg University Esbjerg. On Friday 10th of February, 92 graduates from different study directions within engineering and natural science followed in Aalborg from the departments of Electronic Systems, BUILD, Energy, Mathematics, and Materials and Production.

What the candidates have in common is that they are well equipped to take on the great challenges of the present day.

It is a group of strong graduates with necessary competencies in high demand that we now say goodbye to, and they have completed their programmes at a university, which is commonly ranked among the very best within engineering worldwide.

Olav Geil estimates that the candidates thus are well prepared when they now enter the labor market. Actually, several of the candidates have already landed agreements with new employers before their graduation.

“Our wish for them is that they will make good use of what they have learnt and accomplished so far, that they will find the right path, and that – whatever path they choose to pursue – it will lead to both personal and professional prosperity,” comments Olav Geil.

Two scholarships from Siemens

As an expression of the graduates' high professional level, two grants from the Siemens Foundation were awarded at the graduation in Aalborg:

  • Tobias Fogdal Lind, Christian Dam, Lukas Kristensen, Joachim Urbak, Lau Madsen, and Lasse Petersen received a grant for the project 'CNC machine for process analysis and control'.
  • Erik Schaltz received a grant for the project 'Drive system platform for electric vehicles'.
