Apply for early admission if you need Special Educational Support (SPS Support)
You can apply for early admission if you are applying for admission to a bachelor’s or professional bachelor’s programme, have a disability, and at the same time need to apply for SPS support. However, it is not possible to apply for early admission to the bachelor’s programme in medicine.
If you have a disability and need to apply for SPS support, you have an opportunity to receive an answer to your application for admission before 28 July.
We grant you early admission if we assess that you will meet the programme’s admission quota.
If you are granted early admission, the SPS office at Aalborg University will help you apply for SPS support well in advance of the start of your studies.
The possibility of receiving an early answer for admission applies to all bachelor’s and professional bachelor’s programmes at Aalborg University, except for the bachelor’s programmen in Medicine.
How to apply for early admission
You must:
- Upload documentation of your disability along with your application on optagelse.dk
- Fill out the form for early admission. You can find the form here
- Meet all admission requirements for the programme by 1 May. Find the programme in the overview of bachelor’s programmes and see under “Admission and admission requirements” what the admission requirements are for the programme.
- Apply for the programme at Aalborg University as your first priority via optagelse.dk no later than 15 March 12:00 noon. (An offer of early admission will be cancelled if you subsequently change the priority at optagelse.dk)
Offer of early admission
We will send you a possible offer of early admission no later than 30 June, and you must accept the offer no later than 7 days after receipt by replying to the offer in UniStart. As soon as you have accepted the offer of early admission, the Admissions Office will send your information and documentation of your disability to the SPS Office.
Please note that you, like all other applicants, will receive a final answer to your applications on 28 July and must accept the study place once again at UniStart.
If you are not offered early admission, it means that you do not meet the conditions for this. You will therefore not receive an answer to your application for admission until 28 July.
Documentation
We assess your application for early admission based on the documentation you upload with your application on optagelse.dk
Relevant documentation for functional impairment can include:
- Medical certificate.
- Extract from your health record at sundhed.dk with documentation of a diagnosis - we must be able to see your full name and who is the sender of the journal note.
- Recognised tests for dyslexia or dyscalculia (a test for dyslexia is not necessary if your test is on ordblindetest.dk).
- Specialist opinion, for example in connection with tests for dyslexia, dyscalculia, or other functional impairments.
- Opinions from specialists such as psychiatrists, neurologists, ear or eye doctors.
