As a mentor, you help make an extra effort to retain our talented international students in Denmark.

The programme lasts for 6 months and is designed so that you yourself decide how much time you want to invest: The most important thing is that you can set aside 4 hours for meetings with your mentee.

The SEEM (Supporting Engineer's Employability through Mentoring) programme is initiated to help international engineering students at Aalborg University build their employability, for example, through cultural and competency understanding, knowledge of the Danish job market, networking - and of course, high professionalism. All of which a mentor-mentee relationship can be crucial in developing.

It was great to have this experience. I realised I have a lot of experience and information that help students in their early careers. It was a good exchange of information for both sides.

About SEEM (Supporting Engineer's Employability through Mentoring)

The SEEM mentor programme has been initiated to help international master's students in Aalborg University's engineering programmes connect with the Danish labour market, ensuring that Danish companies do not lose the valuable competencies that are increasingly in demand.

The programme is a collaboration between AAU Career and Faculty of Engineering and Science, currently involving:

  • Department of Chemistry and Bioscience
  • Department of Energy
  • Department of Architecture and Media Technology
  • Department of the Built Environment
  • Department of Planning and Sustainability

The project runs from 2022 to 2026, with the goal of subsequently expanding the experiences to the entire Faculty of Engineering and Science at Aalborg University.
