Whistleblower scheme

AAU's whistleblower scheme can be used, if you are or have been employed at Aalborg University, are a collaboration partner or have another work affiliation with the university.

When should you use the whistleblower scheme?

The scheme should be used, If you have knowledge or a reasonable suspicion of illegality, serious financial irregularities, research misconduct or serious offensive and abusive behaviour at Aalborg University. Annual statement on whistleblower reports 

According to § 27 of Denmark’s Whistleblower Protection Act, Aalborg University must publish information on the university's whistleblower scheme once a year.

Compliance with the special duty of confidentiality of the Whistleblower Protection Act and the rules on disclosure must continue with the publication of the information.

The annual statement must indicate the number of reports received and the status of follow-up on the reports, including:

  • How many reports were considered on the merits
  • How many reports were rejected or closed
  • How many reports gave rise to a police report

In addition, Aalborg University must publish a description of the overall themes for the reports received and followed up on during the period.

  • Violations of EU law
  • Serious violations (criminal code)
  • Serious violations (special legislation or other legislation)
  • Harassment
  • Other serious matters
