Can I carry my remaining holiday forward to the next holiday year? How do I fill out a travel reimbursement form? What is the local salary agreement in my unit? These are just some of the many questions that staff members at Aalborg University (AAU) can find answers to in the AAU Handbook. 

Over the summer, representatives from all Shared Services units worked to move and upgrade the handbook from the old website design to the new one. As part of that process, the handbook now has a new and improved search function that makes it possible to find information targeted to staff – information that is not only in the AAU Handbook itself, but also on ansatte.aau.dk and staff.aau.dk. 

The new search function is indexing all the pages in the new Handbook and on staff.aau.dk. During the next period, the search engine will capture more and more of the new pages, and you may therefore experience that the search engine improves over time.

The new handbook is already available on ansatte.aau.dk/regler and staff.aau.dk/rules. The old AAU Handbook will continue to be available for a brief period on haandbog.aau.dk and handbook.aau.dk, but during October the old version will refer to the new pages. So, you may find that some direct links to the old AAU Handbook will show an error page. Should you hit a link that does not work, you will be able to search the new AAU Handbook from the error page – and find links to the new location.

System guides

System guides have also been removed from the manual and can now be found on the units' pages for system guides; see, for example, IT Services system guides. For the units in Shared Services whose pages have not yet been moved to the new content management system Umbraco, a temporary page has been created on the subpage for staff/guides at AAU. This is the case, for example, for the Finance and Accounts Department system guides.
