The specialisation in Dynamic Systems is a multidisciplinary engineering study programme, which teaches the students about the productivity and innovation in the energy industry that includes designers, manufacturers, operators and service providers of the energy sector.
There is a need for dynamic systems engineers in:
- Renewable energy systems design and manufacturing
- Offshore wind turbine and wind farm design and operation
- Industrial automated systems
- Offshore energy systems engineering and design
- Offshore robots, underwater vehicles, and drone inspection and operation
- Oil and gas automation and instrumentation
- Energy-efficient systems and products for various industries.
5th semester: Offshore dynamic systems
This semester aims for a complete dynamic system analysis of offshore energy systems. Simulation models of mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, fluid, thermal and multidisciplinary systems, such as wind turbine transmission systems, or oil and gas systems are developed for dynamic behaviour analysis of offshore systems. Furthermore, laboratory setups are developed to test and verify the dynamic performance of offshore systems.
6th semester: Control of offshore systems
This semester focuses on synthesize and design components or systems for offshore or maritime multidisciplinary systems, as well as assessing the suitability of different solution principles. The aim is to analyse the interaction and limitations of different technologies in the design process. Feasible and economical solutions are to be proposed involving both actuator systems and their control.
Analysis of the overall system implies the study of the interaction between constituting subsystems and technologies involved. Students gain experience working in laboratories such as the Offshore Wind and Wave Laboratory or the Offshore Oil and Gas Laboratory.
